Ellendale, at Upper Kedron, has 21 lots available in the first release with land prices ranging from $301,000 to $409,000 and lots from 305sq m to 652 sqm. The development, which backs onto the South D'Aguilar National Park, has amasterplan that provides 9lha of nature corridors and recreation space.
Developer Cedar Woods has approval for an initial development stage of 48 0 lots, with a planning scheme amendment process for the balance of the 227ha site underway.
Of the first-release lots, five will be house and land packages offered by builders as part of a 29-lot display village. Clint and Lee Warren are lookng at options for a two storey house design after purchasing a 381sqm block at Ellendale.
Ms Warren said the block was "definitely a long-term residence" as somewhere to raise their young family. "We were looking for an actual house for about 18 months, and we couldnt find anything we were after," she said.
"For us (Ellendale) was basically the best of both worlds, relatively close to the city but also near the national park and that's what we loved." Cedar Woods state manager Nathan Blackburne said Ellendale would dedicate about 40 per cent of its overall site to green space. "ln the stage one corridors alone we will be planting over 22,000 plants and trees, with green space corridors designed to enhance important habitat connections through the site and provide a spectacular backdrop to the living environment,'' he said.
Mr Blackburne said the development was popular with families looking for convenience, community, lifestyle and access to the quality primary and secondary schools that Upper Kedron offered.
