Furry Friends' welcome new home

Megan, who created the possum house for a school project, says she has a passion for wildlife and wanted to do something to contribute.
"When I grow up, I would like to be a vet so I can help native Australian wildlife," she said.
"I really love possums, because they are so cute. When I had to do a project for school, I was inspired by the nesting boxes I saw in the bushland areas of Ellendale and decided to see if I could make one."
Megan said the possum house took two weeks to build.
"It was hard work, but it was worth it," she said.
"I used pine wood to make it more natural and made it waterproof to withstand the rain.
"I love going to the Ellendale park and now I'll be even more excited to visit my possum house and see if any creatures move in."
Megan's possum house has been installed near Ellendale Park by Evolve Environmental Solutions, which has already helped install 253 nesting boxes for native wildlife throughout Ellendale.
Evolve has worked with Ellendale developer Cedar Woods Properties since the start of the community, with Evolve’s Director John White saying the nesting boxes have proven to be a great success.
"Nesting boxes provide shelter for our native fauna, including squirrel gliders,  powerful owls and  micro bats, and can be used by multiple animals when required for nesting and breeding," Mr White said.
"Over time the revegetation of the environmental corridors at Ellendale will provide natural shelters for our native animals.
"In the meantime, we will help them all we can by providing nesting boxes, just like the one provided by Megan."
